We are a 16-member group in St. Petersburg, Florida. 2009 has been our worst year ever. We are barely breaking even.
The cuts WILL put us out of business. We cannot afford our leases (3 offices), nor the bank note on our equiptment.
Most likely, we will go out of business, partner with the hospitals, and sell assets to them. Then, all the diagnostic testing we perform will be under the hospital billing code at a higher rate, i.e., more cost to Medicare.
I suggest that, in an effort to demonstrate the impact, that ALL cardiology practices should close their doors 40% of the time. (every Wed).
I also suggest that the ACC bring out the hard balls.
1) If the AMA and CMS will NOT show their data, then obviously it is ficticious. Therefore, it should be against the law to cut our salary without "due process". This should be in Federal Court. The people in charge should be held accountable.
2) Obama promised a "free and open" administration. Show the American People that this is NOT the case.
3) Unionize MD's. If that is "against the law", then challenge the law.
4) New Slogan: "Enough is Enough!"
