On Oct. 30, CMS issued a devastating blow to patient access with the publication of the final fee schedule. This rule significantly reduces payments for cardiovascular-related services. Recent ACC member efforts bought a little time for cardiology through a four-year phase in of some of the cuts. But these cuts, whether immediate or spread out over time, are simply unacceptable.
